ISLAMABAD: The government has banned tourism across the country on the occasion of Eid.
The
Interior Ministry has issued a decision at the NCOC meeting under which a
complete ban on tourism has been imposed from May 8 to May 16.
According
to the Interior Ministry, the ban on tourism will remain in place during the
Eid-ul-Fitr holidays, tourist sites and all surrounding restaurants, public
parks, beaches and hotels will be completely closed, while inter-provincial and
intercity transport will remain closed during the Eid holidays.
The
notification said that roads leading to Murree, Galyat, Swat and Kalam would
remain closed during Eid holidays, roads leading to coastal areas and northern
areas would also remain closed while locals of Gilgit-Baltistan would be
allowed to return.

to the Interior Ministry, uninterrupted power supply will be ensured during the
Eid holidays, while SOPs will be launched on time for Itikaf, Shab-e-Qadr,
Jumu'ah Al-Wada 'and Eid.
